How it works
Welcome to The Rug Connection. We've built a dedicated B2B online marketplace to enable rug retailers around the world to directly source stocks from the producers.
We've tried to keep it as simple as possible. Producers upload their latest stocks and keep them up to date. As a registered retail buyer, you can then browse and purchase rugs, and we organise the shipping for you.
For this system to work, we've asked one key commitment from each side of the transaction:
1 - The producer commits to keeping stocks up to date, so you know you're always browsing rugs that are actually available.
2 - You, the retail buyer, commit to pay for the orders you place promptly so the producer isn't reserving stocks for lengthy periods.
We charge a very low, transparent commission of between 2.5 - 5% on your order, and we don’t make a penny from the producers, so you know you’re paying the true price of the carpet.
You can either select a shipment in one go or, if you prefer to ‘trickle buy’, you can buy rugs a few at a time over a period and we will ship when you’re ready.
Which Service Option?
Once you’ve made your selection of rugs, and are ready to have them shipped, it’s then up to you to choose which Service Option to use.
Our Basic Service Option is the lowest cost option at 2.5%, for which we will organise the consolidation and shipping of your purchases, meaning that you make one payment and we take care of the rest. We will provide you with different shipping options and prices, so you’re in complete control of the process.
For peace of mind that you have the best, most refined selection of goods, we can inspect for you. Choose the Elite Service Option at 5%, and your order will be inspected by one of our account managers, each with many years of experience in buying handmade rugs. They will be your eyes on the ground, working to your pre-agreed brief while inspecting, and can refine your selection by rejecting up to 20% of each order to make sure the shipment is just what you need for your stock.
When Are My Goods Ready?
We need to allow producers the time required to complete any finishing steps on the rugs you’ve ordered.
If you’ve chosen the Basic Service Option, your goods will be ready to ship around 10 days after placing your order.
If you’ve chosen the Elite Service Option, your orders will be inspected between the 15th- 20th of the following month, after which your goods will be ready for shipping.
You can choose whether to ship orders straight away, or whether to add further orders over time before shipping. ‘Trickle buying’ in this way has the advantage of saving money on shipping, while not missing out on rugs as they become available on the website.
When Do I Pay?
All goods ordered must be paid for by the end of the following month at the latest. If the goods are ready to be shipped sooner, payment needs to be received before the goods are dispatched.
